RECOMMENDED HEARTWORM & FLEA MEDICATION

We highly recommend using the Heartworm/flea medication madeby Pfizer Animal Health called "Revolution".  It active ingredient is Salamectin (a slightly modified form of Ivermectin).  We have used this product for over 8 years onour dogs and as a horse wormer (ivermectin) for more then 15 years and have never experienced any adverse reaction to the product.  It can be used on K-9 puppies of 6-weeks of age through adults.  It's a liquid that you apply by parting the hair on the back, at the shoulders, and applying the small amount of liquid, just once per month.

It not only completely protects your pet from heartworms, it also kills adult fleas, prevents their eggs from hatching, treats and controls ear mites (the biggest cause of sever ear infections, which can be nasty and costly), treats and controls sarcoptic mange due to Sarcoptes scabies (which we hope your never have to deal with), and controls Dermacentor variabilis tick infections.

We highly recommend this product!  One application covers it all!

Now, this product can only be obtained from a Vet. that carries it or through an on-line pharmacy.  You'll find it'smuch cheeper if you ask for a prescription from your Vet. and go on-line to the website listed below.  You'll need to send the prescription to the on-line company.  They must have the prescription to sell it to you.

I have completed a very through search of all websites (as of 4/21/11) and found this one offers the lowest price of all for the true "Revolution".  Place the following in your search box and it will take you directly to the needed page.

As of today, for a 10-20 pound dog, for one month (out of a 6-pack), yourcost would be around $12.00.  About $68.00 for a 6-month supply!  That's a very good price, for a very good product, and the safety of your dog.  Heartworms, eventually, will kill and they are now in EVERY STATE IN THE UNION!

A FEW WORDS ABOUT "SO CALLED" FLEA COLLARS.

Some of us older folks remember a thing that was available, years ago, to control flying insect in our homes.  It was a yellow, soft plastic, strip called the "NO PEST STRIP".  Well gladly, it was outlawed (not soon enough though) a few years after it hit the market.  I have to admit, I was one of the un-knowing people using them.  The problem with this thing was, it "off-gassed" into the air of our homes, restaurants, supermarkets and more, a nerve agent that destroyed the nerve tissues of the insects and they died.  Well, that agent was also slowly destroying our nerve cells along with the flies.  This was another one of those things the chemical companies exposed us to while advertising heavily, how great it kills bugs but, never saying a word about what it was doing to us, our children, our pets and every other living thing exposed to it!  Hey, they were making millions!  Who cared/cares about us????

Well, guess what?  Those flea collars contain a similar nerve agent!  What's it doing to your dog?  Your children?  Birds?  Cats?  Every other living thing close enough to get a "whiff" of the "off-gas".

By the way, the old adage that these collars kill fleas because, the flea has to pass "it" on it's way up to the eyes and or mouth for water.  THIS IS TOTALLY FALSE!  That was just a ploy to sell the collars!  Fleas receive all the water they need from the Host's blood!

Please, help to make our environment as safe as we can,

Rodger
